If you are looking for some quick-fire action to get your brain engaged, there is a solid range of puzzle games available on Amazon Alexa to try out.

Varying from basic word games and maths problems, through to escape rooms and high production Netflix series spin off adventures, we have collected some of our favourites here to explore.

Two of the games even have video trailers and gameplay walk throughs to give you a taste of the action.

Escape the Room

Real world escape rooms grew in popularity over recent years, and in this skill you will find no less than five different rooms to try out your problem solving skills on, with escalating difficulty levels.

You will be introduced to the various commands such as Look Left, Look Right, Inspect X etc. that enable you to explore the surroundings of each room and piece together your means of escape.

Most of the gameplay is completely free, although there are a couple of premium paid options available to get hints if you are or stuck, or to play new rooms on top of the default options.

Save the Blob — Brain Challenge

An Evil Space Villain has hidden your Blob in one of 12 universes. You will move through portals to try and grab it to safety from an adjacent universe. With a spoon!

Inspired by a classic game from 1973 called “Hunt the Wumpus”, Save the Blob will require some tactical note taking while playing in order to traverse the different space mazes.

A fun strategic memory game that is accessible for all the family, although younger children will need some help to get going. Handily the creators made a video to demonstrate how to play:

Number Spies

This spy themed code breaking game includes an incredible amount of detail, so you can tell a lot of effort went into the creation and testing.

You will travel the world on secret spy missions trying to decode messages, solve puzzles, and advance to higher levels.

It also includes some clever linking to social media, where visiting the game pages on Twitter, Facebook, or YouTube can sometimes help you in your missions or unlock extra rewards.

Puzzle of the Day

If you are into crossword puzzles, then this is a good game to try. It doesn’t use a traditional crossword board, but provides you with 5 word puzzle clues per day. For each word you solve, letters are unlocked to help you answer the others.

By linking your account, your stats will be shown on a live leaderboard to see how you stack up against other players around the world.

Brain Games

A collection of four different multiplayer games where you can take on real opponents around the world in real time!

Choose from Maths Master, Anagram Magic, Word Wheel, and Speedy Sums to see how you match up with other players in 1 vs 1 brain game battles.

You are also able to create your own avatar; boy, girl, man, or woman. These avatars can then be customised by unlocking new items as you level up with your success in the games.

The 3% Challenge

Based on a Netflix Original series called 3%, this game was written in conjunction with the writers of the show and is voiced by the lead actress Bianca Comparato for a high quality experience.

It is an interactive story where you work to secure a spot in the elite 3% that are allowed to leave the dystopian slums of the Mainland for the paradise that awaits Offshore.

You can play Chapter 1 of the story, plus all six different types of challenges in the Simulator, for free. Then Chapters 2–8 can be bought individually or unlocked together for a reduced bundle price.

Here is the lead (voice) actress Bianca giving an introduction on how to get started.
